Huawei Opens Preorders For The New Matebook Line In The U.S.

Here at GoGoDadget, we’ve only been about reviews for parents and everyday users who are less worried about specs and more interested in how technology can impact their busy everyday lives.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t cover some news once in a while, and when a brand I’ve really enjoyed reaches out with some great info on upcoming products, I think sharing that info sounds like a nice thing to do. And remember, at GoGoDadget we are not paid for reviews or coverage, we just do things on our own accord — for our readers.

Here’s all the info I have on the upcoming U.S. launch of the Huawei Matebook X, E, and D — Huawei’s latest foray into laptops and tablet hybrids.

WHAT, HOW MUCH, WHEN, and WHERE

Initial availability:

  • Pre-sale: Friday, June 30 to Friday, July 7 on Amazon.com and Newegg.com
  • Second wave availability will be announced at a later date.

Pricing & Versions:

MateBook X

  • i5 8+256G Space Gray: $1,099.99
  • i7 8+512G Space Gray: $1,299.99

MateBook E

  • M3 4+256G Titanium Gray: $799.99
  • i5 8+256GB Titanium Gray: $999.99

MateBook D

  • i5 8G+1T Champagne Gold: $699.99

Honestly those prices look pretty competitive, and I hope I can trick Huawei into letting GoGoDadget take at least one of them for a spin, to see if the pricing matches the performance. Right now, those specs look nice for the price.

If you’re in the market for a new laptop (or tablet/laptop), this might be the way to go.

We’ll keep you posted on a possible full review soon. In the meantime, check out why I like Huawei in the first place with our review of the MediaPad M3.
